I figured that the first entry I'd post would relate to my transition back to being a Pennsylvania resident. But strangely enough, something else has resonated within me enough to inspire today's entry.
For years I wanted to buy a house--since even before I met Cassy. It made sense, as I moved from place to place to place, paying some extraordinary rents in the process. As most of my friends can attest, I've moved a lot and have had some strange living situations/roommates, etc.
It has been nearly a year and a half since Cassy and I made the decision that we were going to move back to Pennsylvania--but more specifically, to the Philadelphia area. Since that time, she has become "one" with trulia.com and the whole MLS system. She had been researching homes in the area for quite some time. While she had wanted to search houses with me throughout this duration, I waited until the past several months to start viewing homes. I was more intent on finding employment.
Well September was a good month, for many reasons. I got a job in Pennsylvania. It was our two-year-anniversary. And we found a house that we both liked a lot!
Even through supplying all of our financial information to the mortgage person, it all seemed surreal to me. Were we really buying a house? It all hit me the other day when Cassy showed me a picture that she had taken earlier that day. That's right, the for sale sign on the house we were purchasing said "SOLD." It created a variety of feelings, with the most prevalent being happiness. It's time to take this house and make it our own. A lot of work to do, but well worth it!
